I’ve been using the Kawaii diapers for over 5 months and they are one of the best purchases I’ve ever made for my baby. This review covers cost, fit, absorbency, and laundry. I can save a ton of money by not buying disposable diapers and wipes. For the price you can’t go wrong with these cloth diapers.
My baby was 6 pounds 5 ounces at birth, and I wasn’t able to use the Kawaii diapers successfully til my baby was a month old. They weren’t a good fit for my newborn and her skinny thighs. Make sure the diaper elastics are snug and secure around the baby’s thighs and back to prevent leaks and blowouts; I learned the hard way. I ended up using disposable diapers in the first month as I waited for my baby’s thighs to thicken up. Once that happened the diapers were great!
The absorbency is good, the Velcro and snaps make the fit customizable, and clean up is easy! I don’t bother stuffing the inserts; I actually sewed them onto the diaper so the style is similar to the BumGenius Freetime, but with one insert. I never have to match up the diapers with the inserts and both agitate well in the wash.
For laundry, I do one load of diaper laundry every 2-3 days. I also made cloth wipes out of old receiving blankets, those go in the wash at the same time. I use Rockin Green Unscented Laundry Detergent and I have a front loading high efficiency washer. I wash twice; the first wash is a cold rinse and the second wash is the hot wash with detergent. I use the dryer too, medium heat for 20 mins. Then hang to dry.
My experience with the Kawaii diapers has been really positive. I would recommend these diapers to anyone who wants quality, inexpensive cloth diapers!

My baby had a diaper rash when we were still on disposable waiting for these to arrive. They arrived much faster then I expected and the moment I switched these from disposable diapers my son was happy. He was trying not to poop because the dry itchy rash and when he was snug in cloth he just kept going releasing everything. Not fun for more diaper changes but was happy to see his change in how he was feeling instantly. He loves them and we love them cuz of that. They are also easy to clean. We use a disposable liner to catch poop and have a diaper sprayer for those messy days. We feel the best baby purchase so far for our newborn. Just a side note, you can chose not to put liners in the shell but I suggest you keep them tucked inside the shells because if you choose for them to be on top of the diaper shell and the amount of wet diapers your baby makes will create a wet rash in the front groin area. Just from personal experience. We keep the liners inside the shell. No rashes since with the use of a cream.

I love these diapers. The velcro has been an easy adjustment for both my husband and I to cloth diapers. A great value for the price. I needed to order an extra set of inserts once my babe got bigger- 15lbs at 3 months. She has large pees, but the pocket is big enough for multiple inserts.

They are exactly as expected and the quality one would expect. Price is great for what you are getting. In store it would be 4 times the cost . If you are having a boy the diapers are a little girly for most but still cute and it’s not like a lot of people will be seeing their diaper lol. The velcro done up way seems like it’s going to be super easy to change baby like using a disposable. Cannot wait to use this product.

Perfect! Very soft and great quality. Easy to use. Velcro wasn’t sharp at all. My baby was born 8 lbs , fit properly when she hit around 10 lb until 4 months old. I added more absorbency on top of the hemp inserts. Would recommend.

I was skeptical about these Chinese GPS but they ended up working out really well for us she started fitting into them at 3 weeks and we are still going strong at 8 months now. What people say about the velcro laundry tab wearing away is true but for the most part it’s not that big a deal I just pulled it apart when I’m done washing them. The inserts that come with these diapers lasted us until 4 months and then we needed more absorbency so I would say they did a really good job on that end as well. I highly recommend purchasing these and I am so glad that I took a chance on them as opposed to blowing a lot more money on more expensive brands. We use these diapers everyday all day and the only reason we use bumGenius at night is because the pocket has more space for us to add extra overnight inserts but these diapers work just fine for us overnight until she was about four months!

Love these diapers, didn’t get a great fit until about 5-6 weeks old (pretty normal for multisize). Fit well, easy to use, husband even on board with using them! I have bum genius diapers too and so far I always still reach for my Kawaiis.
